It's so interesting (and important) to watch the struggle between the FAS faculty and the administration over health plan changes. I kind of can't believe that Massachusetts Hall administrators really think it will work just to stonewall, spin the facts, and wait for the political problem to blow over. But that's what it's starting to look like. Deeply insulting, to the faculty and to the rest of us. I don't think the faculty will just drop it...

I'm really glad that the faculty have gotten it together to push back on the Provost and the President although I wouldn't mind if they got a little bit more ad hominem. The two of them inspire absolutely no confidence - Drew is here primarily to continue the Harvard campaign (while being isolated from policy problems so she won't need medical leave like Rudenstine). thus saith her handlers...let's not offend oil companies, let's keep all our financial reports opaque, let's bend the backs of the middle-class staff because what are they going to do, leave?
